Kellie Martin is an American actress and film director best known as Christy Huddleston in the period drama 'Christy", Rebecca Thatcher on the drama about families Life Goes On> and Lucy Knight for the medical drama ER. She is also known for playing the title role in the "Hailey Dean Mystery" series. Martin, born to a department store seller and a kindergarten teacher began her professional career in acting when she was seven, when her aunt who worked as a nanny to Michael Landon's kids was able to help Martin land a role in 1983's show "Father Murphy". In the years following after her Yale University graduation, she began to concentrate on acting. She was able to land substantial roles in the film and television industries. In addition to being an actress Martin is a skilled photographer as well as a dancer. Her sister, who died from Lupus at the age of 19, was the inspiration behind her becoming the Lupus the national spokesperson.
